Veterans Day is a time to pay our respects for all who served to protect our country – words alone cannot express our gratitude. Did you know Veterans Day was originally called Armistice Day to commemorate the end of World War I, but then officially changed in 1954? Or that countries around the world recognize this day too as “Remembrance Day?”
We’re honored to continue to share the stories of our very own veterans here at the NBCo. and give back to the military community.
Our United We Stand Affinity Group launched earlier this year and we’re proud to introduce you to the group leaders. Their experience and time dedicated to serving our country is not only admirable, but has brought invaluable expertise to NBCo.
To give back, our United We Stand Affinity Group recently teamed up with Tuesday’s Children to deliver 500 care packages filled with personal care items ranging from hair brushes to razors to the Northport VA Medical Center.
They also partnered with Operation Gratitude, an organization dedicated to creating a strong bond between Americans and their Military and First Responder heroes through volunteer service projects, acts of gratitude, and meaningful engagements in communities nationwide. With the help of Operation Gratitude, our colleagues sent letters with words of thanks and encouragement to deployed troops, veterans, their caregivers and recruit graduates.
